The domain name, “democracy.com” was going to auction this month with the minimum bid set at $300,000. The auction was called off after Mark Cuban, billionaire had made a private offer to the seller Talmage Cooley who had used the domain for a start-up social platform. It is stated by the article in The New York Times that it is very likely that the exact amount agreed upon was very likely above the asking price.
